We flew out of Chicago, IL at 4:50pm CST, Saturday, March 19. The flight took 8 1/2 hours. Interesting fact that we learned while in the air: At 36,000 ft, the air temperature is -76°F. We landed at Madrid-Barajas airport at 8:30am (Madrid time). After walking FOREVER (the airport is very long and skinny), we got our bags and met up with Erica. We Metro'd to her apartment and consolidate luggage. Whlie there, we talked with her roommate Ivan. We left to catch our Alsa bus at 12:00pm for Barcelona. The bus ride took 7 1/2 hours, with a stop in Zaragosa, and another place. Once arriving in Barcelona, we had some trouble finding our hotel. Some people claimed that the street that had our hotel did not exist. After lots of Erica working her Spanish magic (which was also difficult, since they speak Catalán in Barcelona), we found our way to Hotel Mitre on Bertan. For dinner, Dani and I ordered Telepizza, while Erica and Kristopher got Pizza Hut. We were tired, and our asses hurt.
